Funding will go towards the distribution of housing pods for displaced persons due to floods, providing short-term housing. Some displaced residents are currently living in tents, couch surfing or living on the bare floors of their partly demolished homes as they have nowhere else to live. |
| Solution: | The pod homes are very basic and are for example, one room with double bed and bunks, a small kitchen area and a small bathroom. The company providing these pods are using local Lismore businesses to provide the windows and other components for these homes to give the local economy a boost as well. |
