Summary:It is 12 years since Russia first infiltrated Crimea in 2014, and 4 years since the full scale invasion in 2022. Since then the Ukrainian people have experienced immeasurable suffering.
Challenge:Around 10 million Ukrainians (25% of the population) have been displaced from their homes, moving west within the country, or overseas. Those living in the cites have been under constant threat from drones and missiles, many of which are deliberately designed to terrorise the population through the targeting of residential buildings and utilities. It is estimated that over 80% of Ukraine's thermal power plants have been afflicted, which is devastating during the winter months when temperatures can drop to -20C. Power is often restricted to a few hours a day leaving the population struggling to stay alive, the aged and children being the most vulnerable.
Solution:Ukraine Crisis Appeal is dedicated to ensuring donations reach the most needy as quickly as possible through secure, reliable channels. It is a partnership between Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) and Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS). Both groups are predominantly run by volunteers ensuring donations are overwhelmingly used to support Ukrainians in need. Since 2022 we have distributed over $10 million in aid.
Long term impact:We are currently seeking your support for the following life-saving humanitarian relief through the following programs:

- Trauma Counselling and rehabilitation for children, veterans and families

- Emergency Medical Care including ambulances, and vital supplies

- Essential winter supplies including generators and portable power stations (battery operated)

- Refugee Resettlement support in Australia
