Summary:East Nusa Tenggara province (NTT) is the poorest province in Indonesia. Children's health is a central focus in rebuilding for healthy villages in West Timor.
Challenge:Raising funds to assist in getting this community back to normality.
Solution:We will assist Children to achieve their potentials by rebuilding safer houses to include floods protection, and protection against disease-carrying insects. We will improve Children's access to water and sanitation; and improve their nutrition by establishing food security via food gardens at homes and/or at schools. Pre-school education facilities will be improved with rebuilding and access to educational materials. Also, community-based integrated health posts "Posyandu" will receive assistance for child health services such as growth monitoring and health education to parents.
Long term impact:To create a community that can provide more from their own resources to cope with disaster such as this cyclone.
